UNION MINISTER OF TEXTILES SMT. IRANI TO GIVEAWAY 21ST HANDICRAFTS EXPORT AWARDS - EPCH

The awards for outstanding performance in exports of handicrafts for the year 2013-14 and 2014-15 will be distributed on the 9th January, 2017 to 66 and 68 exporters respectively involved in handicrafts production and exports from the Country to the world markets.  The function will be held at the Convention Hall, Hotel The Ashok, Chankayapuri, New Delhi on 9th January, 2017. Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, Hon’ble Union Minister of Textiles will be the Chief Guest. Shri Ajay Tamta, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Textiles (Independent Charge) will also grace the export award ceremony. Shri K.K. New Delhi – 3RD DECEMBER, 2016 - In its efforts to combat the impact of demonetization on handicrafts sector and to facilitate timely payment to the karigars and artisans who are backbone of the Handicrafts sector, Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts organised Camp for opening of bank accounts and Jan Dhan Accounts in Narsapur on 3rd December, 2016. The camp was organised at International Lace Centre Trade set up by EPCH at Narsapur, Andhra Pradesh. Nationalized Corporation Bank sent a team of their officials at Narsapur for this purpose. Apart from opening of bank accounts, they also motivated artisans and karigars to make cashless transaction, onlne payments, mobile banking [services like paytm, buddy, e-wallet etc. Large number of Karigars and artisans turned up for opening of the accounts.
