EPCH successfully organised camp at Narsapur, Andhra Pradesh for the opening of Bank Accounts for Karigars and Artisans.- Epch

New Delhi – 3RD DECEMBER, 2016 - In its efforts to combat the impact of demonetization on handicrafts sector and to facilitate timely payment to the karigars and artisans who are backbone of the Handicrafts sector, Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts organised Camp for opening of bank accounts and Jan Dhan Accounts in Narsapur on 3rd December, 2016. The camp was organised at International Lace Centre Trade set up by EPCH at Narsapur, Andhra Pradesh.

Nationalized Corporation Bank sent a team of their officials at Narsapur for this purpose. Apart from opening of bank accounts, they also motivated artisans and karigars to make cashless transaction, onlne payments, mobile banking [services like paytm, buddy, e-wallet etc.

Large number of Karigars and artisans turned up for opening of the accounts. Prominent member exporters from Narsapur region were also present during the camp.

More than 7 million artisans skilled, semi-skilled and un-skilled work force is engaged in manufacture of handicrafts specially women folk and weaker section of the society.
