Indian handicrafts manufacturers: EPCH

Indian Handicrafts Manufacturers Receive Global Recognition through EPCH
New Delhi, 20 March 2018: The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) organizes the IHGF trade fair every year to help Indian handicrafts manufacturers promote unique handcrafted products to the global arena. It is a unique opportunity for all types of handicraft businesses, especially for the manufacturers lacking exposures. The handicraft manufacturers of North-Eastern India lack international exposure due to the inadequacy in promotional procedures. The EPCH encourages the Indian suppliers of handicrafts to bring these products to the IHGF fair. The visitors attending the IHGF fair come from European, American and Asian countries. The EPCH organizers have 14 different halls to accommodate large number of attendees. This type of sprawling arrangement can bring all the businesses within focus. The manufacturers/vendors of handicrafts from north-east India can use this opportunity to their advantage.20 march3
Eco-Products from North-East India
The craftsmen from India’s north-eastern regions are famous for making the household handicraft products accessories using eco-friendly elements. The craftsmen of Assam and Meghalaya use bamboo or cane to manufacture tribal fishing tools, hats, toys, mats and baskets. The craftsmen of Assam also manufacture musical instruments using the bamboo strands. The artisans of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram manufacture not only the trays, smoking-pipes, baskets, ornaments, knives or storage pouches. They also manufacture lovely furnishing items using the bamboo strands. The Manipuri style cane and bamboo handicraftscome in vibrant tints with intertwined designing. The cane and bamboo products of Tripura are famous for intricate weaving patterns, innovative styling and exclusive designs. These eco-friendly handcrafted items from the North-East India look beautiful and they are extremely functional. However, these products do not receive adequate recognition due to lack of communication or technical advancement in these areas. EPCH brings these products within limelight through its Indian trade show 2018.20 march4

The ethnic handloom items of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh also received global limelight with the help of IHGF fairs.
